Comedian Bill Cosby Reveals 'Morgan [Freeman] is Waiting for Me to Die', 'The Colbert Report' Video
'The Cosby Show' and 'I Spy' star Bill Cosby recently explained why legendary actor Morgan Freeman is 'waiting' for him 'to die'.
"Out of respect," said Cosby to Stephen Colbert on 'The Colbert Report' on Wednesday, "Morgan and I worked together on 'The Electric Company,' so I think out of respect Morgan is waiting for me to die."
Cosby made those remarks after Colbert asked the longtime funnyman why Morgan Freeman has not starred in a film as the 'Ghost Dad' actor yet.
The 77-year-old comedian from Philadelphia also revealed that he is not the only iconic African-American actor that Freeman allegedly wants to star as in a potential biography film.
"Not only that, he has asked how Sidney Poitier is doing, Harry Belafonte," said Cosby, "Everybody wants to know how they're all doing."
Bill Cosby is best known for his role as Dr. Heathcliff Huxtable, the patriarch of his family on the hit series titled "The Cosby Show" from 1984 to 1992.
Cosby's longtime co-star Phylicia Rashad played Cliff's wife, Clair, on the iconic series before she would later play his wife again in another sitcom entitled "Cosby" from 1996 to 2000.
Bill Cosby has been in the entertainment business for over 50 years. He first performed stand-up comedy in small venues in New York.
Cosby would later co-star with the late Robert Culp in the 1960's television series, 'I Spy'. As a result, he became the first-ever black lead in a weekly dramatic show.
In addition, he won three best actor Emmy Awards for his portrayal of undercover CIA Agent Alexander Scott in the 'I Spy' show.
Cosby's latest biography book 'Cosby: His Life and Times' was recently released in book stores on September 16.
