Tonight is going to be a hard episode of "Glee" to watch due to the subject matter. The episode tonight will have a much different tone than the upbeat, happy "gleeful" feel that audiences are used to from the musical show. The cast and crew were almost unable to film the episode due to frequent outbursts of crying, according to executive producer and showrunner Ryan Murphy.

Lea Michele, the real life girlfriend of Cory Monteith, has taken his death the hardest. She had a hard time with the whole idea of the tribute episode, but the script convinced her that the episode would be respectful and would give the cast, crew, and audience some closure of Montieth's death. Ryan Murphy said, "It is extremely well done. It was very difficult... But it was done with a really pure feeling of love for [CORY] and I think that's what that episode is about; treasure your friendships when you have them because one day they're not going to be there. And for young people in particular, I think that's a really sweet, kind message."

Lea Michele talked about the episode to the Australian TV Week, saying, "I haven't seen it yet, but we did it because it was something we all needed to do together. Everyone is asking, 'It it hard to do this? Is it hard to be back at work?', but the truth is it's no harder at work than it is in life so we might as well all be together as a family supporting each other to get through this together."

Lea's song performance in the show doesn't appear until the end of the episode, but rumors indicate that it is one of the most touching scenes from the history of the show.
