‘Criminal Minds’ Season 10 Spoilers, Premiere Date, Cast Rumors: New Female Villain Appears, Unique Character Traits

The popular CBS police procedural drama, 'Criminal Minds', will be returning on the air to start its Season 10 with an episode entitled, "X." Additionally, the new installment will bring with it an emerging female antagonist, in Episode 9.

On the ninth episode of the tenth season, the female antagonist, who shares similarity with "American Psycho" anti-hero Patrick Bateman, will make her appearance. The antagonist is said to be unlike an ordinary brutal villain, instead, the character is described to be an extremely attractive and a successful career woman in her thirties, whose flaws include being emotional, impulsive, and prone to sudden rage.

So far, the show is still working on the pre-production for the upcoming season's eighth episode, and there has been no casting announcements for the role of the new female villain.

Meanwhile, aside from the new female villain, fans of the show can also look forward to what Season 10 may bring to the love lives of Derek Morgan and Aaron Hotchner.

According to executive producer Erica Messer, Morgan and Hotchner's love lives will be featured in Season 10.

"We need to figure out a few things with Morgan's girlfriend [Savannah] and Hotch's girlfriend [Beth], and see how we'll explore those stories this year," Messer told TV Line.

The idea of expanding the storyline about the two character's love lives seems to excite Shemar Moore, the actor who plays Morgan.

"I'm grateful that Derek has a girlfriend. It's about time he got some! I'm glad the romance has shown new layers to the character. There are a lot of gems this season. This show is more character-driven than most procedurals," Moore told Huffington Post.

In addition to Moore, the tenth season of the show will star Joe Mantegna, Thomas Gibson, Matthew Gray Gubler, A.J. Cook, Kirsten Vangsness, and the new cast member Jennifer Love Hewitt.

The tenth season of 'Criminal Minds' will premiere on Oct. 1 on CBS.
