Customer Finds Christmas Music In Florida Restaurant Offensive, Complains
While Christmas music normally puts people in the holiday spirit, one customer who dined at a restaurant in St. Augustine, Florida last week found it offensive.
The restaurant manager reported that a customer found the Christmas music playing inside the restaurant offensive, and felt the need to voice out his complaint through a note on the back of his receipt.
The note from the customer read, "Christmas music was offensive. Consider playing holiday music or less religious themed."
To respond to the note, Chef Michael Lugo posted a snap of the note on his Facebook page and captioned it, "Really, what's wrong with people?"
"It's all about celebration of family celebration of gathering with friends and people and it's a tradition. It's not about a religion it's not about anything else. I am a Christian but I don't push that as my agenda. I think that Christmas is Christmas," he said in his interview with First Coast News.
Lugo's response generated more than 200 comments and 262 likes on Facebook, instantly becoming a hit.
A certain Jody Mathein responded to Lugo's post, saying, "It's so sad that people try to take Christ out of Christmas. If they don't believe in Christ stay quiet and let those of us who know what the season is about enjoy it. I'm sure God is as proud of you as I am Michael."
During the interview, Lugo said his Facebook post was not much a complaint as it was a show of support for his staff at Michael's Tasting Room.
"Thank you all for the support. I'm very comfortable with these situations, but the stress it puts on my staff is unfair," he said.
