Cyber Monday Deals 2013: Best Sales on Amazon and Best Buy

The relatively new follow up to Black Friday, called Cyber Monday, puts emphasis on online deals and sales on popular retail websites like Amazon and BestBuy.com. Many stores, including Best Buy, have hit it big the last couple years with huge Black Friday sales and then almost as big Cyber Monday sales right afterwards. Several other stores that followed in Best Buy's footsteps were Target, Walmart, Toys R Us, Macy's, and J.C. Penney Company.

Analysts think that there will be over 131 million people buying online this Cyber Monday, 2 million more than in 2012. Fedex went on record saying that they are expecting this week to not only be the busiest of the year, but most likely the busiest they've ever had.

Bryan Roberts, the Retail Insights Director at Kantar Retail, told CNBC, "Everyone's just been paid, it's the final pay check that they can feasibly use to order online to guarantee delivery in time for Christmas and a lot of people have generally been in the stores for general Christmas shopping anyway."

Some experts think that Cyber Monday will overtake Black Friday as the popular way to buy Christmas presents. One of the main reasons for this line of thinking is the backlash against early openings by retail stores on Thanksgiving evening. Another reason could be the fact that consumers would rather shop from the comfort of their own homes rather than having to brave the crowds and lines out at brick and mortar stores.
