'Death Stranding' Trailer & Release News: Introducing Mads Mikkelsen and Guillermo del Toro
The latest "Death Stranding" trailer was released and it shows Mads Mikkelsen and Guillermo del Torro as the new character additions. There's no news, however, as to their role in the larger storyline.
Previously, "The Walking Dead" star Norman Reedus was already introduced, probably as the main character in the game.
In the new "Death Stranding" trailer, Guillermo del Toro can be seen carrying a baby in an incubation chamber. He's trying to hide from soldiers who are apparently taking orders from Mads Mikkelsen's character.
Although there's no news on Mads Mikkelsen's villainous character, the "Death Stranding" trailer does show that he wields some sort of power. For instance, he seems to have some tentacles that control the soldiers. When he deploys them, he just disconnect the tentacles from his henchmen.
Also, when he takes off his helmet, it liquefies in some sort.
Slashfilm said the "Death Stranding" trailer doesn't really reveal anything about the plot, but it served to affirm the earlier clip featuring Norman Reedus about the world its characters are living in: a post-apocalyptic nightmare that fully showcases the creator's imagination unleashed after freeing himself from the shackles of a big studio.
As we all know, Hideo Kojima was the mind behind "Metal Gear Solid" right before the bitter divorce from Konami.
But don't try to make sense of the game through the "Death Stranding" trailer alone as creator Hideo Kojima hinted about some "hints" and "misleads." He did say the clip offers a lot of clues so people should watch it over and over again.
