Artists Tweet Prayers For Victims of "Dark Knight" Denver Shooting [VIDEO]

The recent shooting that occurred at "The Dark Knight Rises" showing on Friday (July 20) had left the nation in shock and sadness. The Aurora Police Department had reported in their official report that 12 have been killed and 50 wounded. There are some bodies that are in unknown conditions inside the theatre. It's stated in the report, "The injured and dead include a wide age range. The conditions of the injured also vary, with some suffering very serious wounds."

The tragedy reached President Barack Obama who released a statement, "Michelle and I are shocked and saddened by the horrific and tragic shooting in Colorado ... We are committed to bringing whoever was responsible to justice, ensuring the safety of our people, and caring for those who have been wounded. As we do when confronted by moments of darkness and challenge, we must now come together as one American family."

A press conference is planned for 11:00AM MST and more details shall be revealed.

Celebrities and artists have expressed condolences via Twitter.

American Idol Season 11 winner Phillip Phillips tweeted, "Just read about the shooting in Denver. Breaks my heart to see that happen. My prayers are out to the family&friends. We need PEACE everyone!"

Christian Worship band Desperation Band wrote, "Tragedies like this leave us speechless. Please pray with us for all affected by the shooting in Aurora last night..."

Gungor said, "Shocked and heartbroken over the shooting here in Colorado last night. Lord have mercy."
