Dexter Season 8, Episode 5 "This Little Piggy" Recap & Episode 6 Teasers/Spoilers Final Season (VIDEO)
Episode 4 ended with Deb hitting rock bottom and trying to kill both herself and Dexter by swerving Dexters car off the road and into a lake. A man witnessed the wreck and dove into the water to pull Deb to safety. She looked back and saw Dexter knocked out in the car still sinking so she instinctively swam back out and pulled him to safety.
Episode 5 opens up with Dexter and Deb having a sit down therapy session with Dr. Vogel about what had happened. It was tense at first with Dexter showing more anger towards Deb then she had ever experienced but it seemed to open the door for healing between the two. Dexter gets to tell Deb in the middle of the episode that he doesn't hate her and they seem to be bonding again after that.
Dr. Vogel gets kidnapped by "brain surgeon" killer A.J. Yates, who is one of her former patients. His ritual of breaking his victims toes is broken up when he finds out that Dexter and Deb have been listening to their conversation on the phone and track the house down. When they arrive at the house, Dr. Vogel is tied up in a closet and Yates is hiding under a bed. Dexter notices this and right before Yates is going to slit Deb's ankles from under the bed, Dexter leaps on top of the bed and lunges a sharp bed post through the bed and kills Yates.
Deb seems to be starting to move forward in a positive light with her life, for now at least. The teaser for Episode 6 shows Deb's new boss stepping in and punching a guy that she appears to be out on a date with, not sure what to make of that yet.
In the teaser for Episode 6, Dr. Vogel mentions teaching another teenager "Harry's Code". The teenager is the son of a suspected killer by Miami Metro. I cannot see Dexter wanting to go for this idea.
We know that Hannah McKay? Returns in the final season at some point, 5 episodes in and no sign of her yet.
Dexter and Deb seem to be becoming almost like a team at the end of episode 5, we will see if that continues moving forward. Deb does not appear afraid to kill anymore, if it is for the right reasons.
At the end of last nights episode, Quinn learns that Batista is going another direction for sergeant after Quinn finally steps up and passes his test anyways. You can tell Quinn is upset by this finding.
