Disney's Frozen Movie Hits Box Office: Great Film for Family Fun

Disney's long awaited adventure film "Frozen" finally hit the theaters on Thanksgiving. The film stars Kristen Bell, Josh Gad and Idina Menzel. The movie is an adventure story about a princess who tries to find her uncontrollable sister, the Ice Queen, who has cast a spell that makes the weather constantly cold and snowy.

The movie is based on the fairy tale "The Snow Queen" by Hans Christian Anderson. The story begins with Elsa, the soon to be snow queen, at her coronation ceremony. She recently learned that she had snow magic, but she was having a hard time controlling her powers. She exposed her powers on accident at the coronation ceremony and ran into the mountains to hide from shame and embarrassment. When she left however, winter became worse and worse until the whole kingdom was in a state of constant cold and ice.

Anna, played by Kristen Bell, is Elsa's younger sister who decided that she had to go on an adventure to find Elsa and help her control her power before it's too late.

Hayden Pittman from KVUE.com wrote, "I got a chance to see 'Frozen' in 3D, and while not crucial to the viewing experience, it was much better than some of the overdone live-action multi-dimensional displays out there that seem to force 3D unnecessarily. The animated characters and creatures are first-rate; especially their facial expressions, and watching them walk around in groups reminds me of a video game like "The Sims." The backgrounds are satisfactory for the most part, but often times when presented with large, far out camera shots, it can look like a miniature play set."
