Dove Winner Cheri Keaggy Guests on KSBJ's 'Sunday Night Live'
Dove Award winning recording artist and speaker Cheri Keaggy was invited to be a guest on a recent Valentine's Day-themed broadcast of KSBJ's "Sunday Night Live," a two-hour, live call-in talk show with producer/host Kim Wier. The show, which aired February 10, focused on help for people who have lost love, people who are searching for love or those who have a need to rediscover love in their marriage. Keaggy was joined by Gary Thomas, author of The Sacred Search and The Sacred Marriage, and Dr. David Clarke, psychologist and author of Kiss Me Like You Mean It.
Keaggy shared her testimony, including her journey from divorce after 23 years of marriage to her high school sweetheart.
"Cheri's willingness to be real and transparent as she shares the life behind her music makes for a compelling interview," Wier says. "Our listeners were treated to an honest look at a heart wounded deeply but bound up in the love of our unfailing God. Her story and her undeniable joy connected with our listeners and impacted lives. Thanks, Cheri!"
In addition to the interview, Wier played excerpts from several songs from Keaggy's current CD, So I Can Tell, including "Hello, God," "Starting A New Year Today" and "Air, Food, & Water."
"KSBJ's slogan is 'God listens.' The cool thing is people listen, too. And I was grateful to be able to share my story with Kim and her listening audience," Keaggy says. "I was able to share how God ministered to me during the heartbreak of divorce. For many, Valentine's Day is a difficult holiday, perhaps because they've lost a spouse to death or divorce or they're single and longing to be married. I appreciate that Kim covered a broad spectrum on the show, offering encouragement to the married couples out there without neglecting those who won't be receiving chocolate and roses this week."
