'Dragon Quest Heroes 2' News: Best Buy Announces Release Date Ahead Of Square Enix's Official Announcement

"Dragon Quest Heroes II" is going to be released next year in North America. While its developer, Square Enix, has not yet announced the official release date of the new video game, Best Buy accidentally listed the game for PlayStation 4 recently, along with its details and date of release.

The online store of Best Buy listed "Dragon Quest Heroes II" this week before Square Enix even had the chance to officially announce it. The site revealed that the game is scheduled for release on April 25, 2017.

The spring release did not come as a surprise for some, considering the path followed by its predecessors. In Japan, "Dragon Quest Heroes II" was released for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and PS Vita. Following that same path, it makes sense if the game might come to just the PlayStation 4 first in North America before a PC port follows afterwards.

Moreover, "Dragon Quest Heroes I" was released in North America and Europe six months after it was initially launched in Japan, so considering the August release date of "Dance Quest Heroes II" in Japan back in August, the timing just fits.

The first "Dragon Quest Heroes" game served as a spinoff of the mainline RPG series and included features that were similar to the features of another popular combat game, "Dynasty Warriors."

According to Best Buy, the new features of the "Dragon Quest Heroes Sequel" include new world, new story and adventures, as well as over 20 playable characters with unique moves and abilities.

"Embark on an adventure across new lands in 'Dragon Quest: Heroes 2' for PlayStation 4. This second installation lets you battle random monsters and find invitation stones to unlock new areas of play. Play 'Dragon Quest: Heroes 2' in single-player mode, or invite three friends to join the journey in multiplayer mode," reads the description on Best Buy's online store.
