New Dual Screen YotaPhone Released in Europe: Does the Cost Effective Two Screen Phone's Specs Measure Up to the Competition in the USA? [Review]
A brand new smartphone just recently went for sale in Europe and Russia that has a feature that no other phone, ever, has had. The YotaPhone has dual screens that come at a price everyone can afford. The question that critics are asking now, is will the YotaPhone be able to compete with the likes of the iPhone and Samsung Galaxy?
The YotaPhone comes from Russian manufacturer Yota Devices and is built with the idea in mind that people are tired of constantly having to click buttons to get their phone to light up. CEO of Yota Devices Vlad Martynov released a statement today that read, "The typical user picks up and activates their smartphone more than 150 times a day. Why? Because users worry that messages of information they need or want are hidden behind their phone's black screen. This is a huge distraction that can impede on meaningful interaction with our friends, families, and colleagues."
One main concern with the "always on" technology is that battery life would be a travesty, but Yota Devices already handled that. They claim that the phone will still display important information such as emails and texts even after the main battery has died.
The phone has specs comparable to a typical Android phone. It runs Jelly Bean 4.2.2 with 2 GB of RAM and has a 13-megapixel camera.
