'Duck Dynasty' Star Reed Robertson Reveals How Fame Almost Destroyed His Life: "I Wanted to Kill Myself"

Though the Robertson family seems cheery, passing back and forth a healthy amount of redneck banter on their massively popular series Duck Dynasty on A&E. Well according to a new film by IAmSecond, reality for Reed Robertson has been a lot more of a struggle than the show lets on.

In the film the son Jase and Missy Robertson admits how his life was almost destroyed by fame and success.

"A couple years ago, I started to get real cynical... I guess I just got really caught up in thinking that I was better than everyone else because of who my family was,"

"... I mean, really, 12 million people watch us every year. Every week actually! I guess that's part of the pressure that's on me."

Reed confessed that his condescension caused his friends to stop inviting him out to do things, leaving the young reality star all alone.

"I told my youth minister that I was, I pretty much told him that I wanted to kill myself."

His depression and anxiety eventually lead to a suicide note. Not until his parents found out did Reed have a change of heart.

"My mom was devastated of course. She's crying and all this kinda stuff. She's thinking where she went wrong and it wasn't her at all," he said.

Reed's dad and oftentimes the Robertson funny-man, Jase sat his son down and taught him a valuable lesson.

"My dad told me, he said, 'That is the most selfish thing that you can do... Leave this world because you can't take it.' And I really believe that that's true."

Reed now says his life is "back on track with Jesus."
