Ender's Game Movie Release Date Review and Trailer: Does Ender's Game Manufacture Too Much Drama to Be Believable? [TRAILER]

Ender's Game, a movie based on a sci-fi book, came out over the weekend and scored big with $28 million in theaters and spot at number one in the box office over Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa. Overall, the film received mixed reviews from critics and fans alike. One of the biggest positive aspects of the film was that it, like most sci-fi books, was trying to make a point about the effects of war on all of humankind. Asa Butterfield, the lead role, played a large part in making this film successful with his great acting in conjunction with Harrison Ford.

Michael O'Sullivan from The Washington Post wrote, "The film doesn't need added suspense, bigger action or a better dramatic twist; it's got all of those, in more than serviceable amounts. But it benefits greatly, at least for those who care about such things, by actually being about something - the morality of war and its methods - in a way that most movies of this type are not."

Another complaint that the movie has received has nothing to do with the plot or characters, but with the author of the book the movie is based on. Gay activist groups have been in conflict with Orson Scott Card who is an outspoken homophobe and marriage crusader. There have been talks of a boycott of Ender's Game by homosexuals, but Card has already said that he will make nothing from the movie seeing as he sold the rights to the film for a flat fee a long time ago.
