Heads up Entourage fans! Your favorite group of famous guys is about to hit the big screen for the first time ever. After months and months of negotiations, all of the actors in the hit HBO series struck a deal with Warner Brothers to begin production on the movie in January 2014. Hopefully that means there will be a 2015 release date!
Jeremy Piven, who plays Ari Gold, took to Twitter to announce the new movie. He tweeted, "Now it's time to go to WORK! The #entouragemovie is on and I look forward to getting into it my friends. Thanks for your patience..."
The Hollywood Reporter claims that Piven negotiated a higher paying deal than the rest of the stars of the movie. They found out that he was getting paid more and decided to renegotiate their contracts, which led to a much longer process than originally planned.
Mark Wahlberg, the show's executive producer, talked about how badly he wanted everyone to get on board to do the movie. He said, "Soon as those guys stop being so greedy... No, we just want to make sure... It's one of those things where if the movie is a success, then we'll get to make a lot more of them, and then everybody will make a lot of money. We want to make it for the fans. It's the most I've ever been asked about a movie."
Jerry Ferrara responded to the allegations that he was being greedy about his pay for the movie. He said, "Here's what I'll say about the holdout: Athletes hold out when they have a contract that they don't want to honor. It goes on more than you think. There's so many different parts of making a movie. It could be as simple as scheduling. Like on one week, someone has to be somewhere. No one is holding out. We knew the whole time we wanted to do this movie. We're actually kind of on schedule, believe it or not."
Do you think the movie will be worth all this hype? Let us know in the comments!
