Exclusive Look: Twinkies are Back and now its BRO food; Hostess re-markets and rereleases the all-time favorite treat for "the sweetest comeback in the history of EVER"

Last year when Twinkies went out of business, fans of the early-death sweet rushed to stores to purchase the treat in bulk. The new owners of Hostess are re-releasing the sweet-tooth's favorite snack back on the market, with a makeover.

The new boxes , that hit shelves yesterday on July 15,  have 270 calories per package, or 135 calories per cake. The shelf life is also suppose to be nearly 3 weeks longer than the original version, and comes in weighting 13.58 ouncess as opposed to the 15 ounces that the original weighed.

"America's famous Twinkies are back on sale, but they're smaller now. Which is something that can't be said about the people buying them." jokes Neal Mayhem via twitter.

Twinkies is also wanting to remarker the brand for a younger audience.

"We want to go beyond just the loyal fans to some of those people who should be fans," said the excutive vice president at advertising agency Bernstein-Rein, Dave Lubeck, "So we're really trying to move beyond the grocery store consumers into the c-store target, which is a younger male." Bernstein-Rein created Twinkies new advertising campaign.

Hannah Arnold said in a press release that the change to extend the shelf life was actually made by the old company that went bankrupt, with the longer-lasting cakes first hitting shelves on Nov. 1 of last year.  In just a few weeks, Twinkies went out of business, making the longer shelf life seem like a new addition to relaunch. The near leadership of twinkles also plans to start freezing the cakes to extend their life.

Arnold said that "any suggestion that Hostess is changing the integrity of the iconic snack cakes consumers have loved is completely untrue."
