Creator Peter Molyneux wants to make "Fable 4" but only if the original team is on board.

In a news interview, he hinted that they might have gone too far with their dark humor that they upset Microsoft.

"You know the British, slightly politically incorrect sense of humor, especially with Fable, where we had prostitutes and same-sex marriage," he said. "Microsoft were appalled, you know, they were busily going around trying to rub all the nipples out of all the women just not to offend people."

 He also said that he couldn't understand why there's no news about "Fable 4" being in the pipeline right now. "I would love to do Fable IV, and the studio tried to do it. You'd have to get the original team back together though," Molyneux explained.

The rise and fall of Lionhead, the studio founded by Molyneux, Steve Jackson, Tim Rance and Mark Webley, is well documented. When Fable was released, it was revolutionary but then it quickly fell by the wayside when other games flew by it.

In a previous news report, it was said that Microsoft "saved" the project. When it launched in 2004, Microsoft said it was a hit, next only to "Halo."

"It was a great deal for Microsoft," Molyneux had explained. "They made all their money back within 18 months, because Fable 2 came out and it was fantastically successful."

Whether or not the wish of Molyneux will get granted is still up in the air. Certainly, there's no news from Microsoft yet on whether "Fable 4" is in the pipeline.
