Chapter 505 will follow the Alvarez soldiers as they endeavor to finish the group from the Kingdom of Flore. Some speculate that as Makarov starts to cast the spell, Mavis will come up to him in hopes of stopping him. Mavis will also try to explain the possible consequences of his plan. However, Makarov will choose to perform the trick to save the guild. After a while, a blinding right light envelops the entire battlefield and Makarov's lifeless body is seen lying on the ground.

While Makarov's death is sad for the fans of the series, some speculate that it is highly likely that Makarov will die in chapter 505. However, given the nature of the story, some believe that the future chapters of the series will see the resurrection of the beloved guild master.
