X-Men vs Fantastic 4 Movie Rumors are Untrue as FOX has No Crossover Film in the Works
Rumors began to surface that FOX was producing a crossover film that featured the soon to be revamped Fantastic Four and X-Men in one blockbuster movie. However, it has been confirmed as untrue.
According to The Motley Fool, it was speculated during the weekend that maybe The Human Torch would be going head to head with Wolverine, or The Thing going punch for punch with Colossus. Unfortunately, the X-Men vs Fantastic 4 rumor is not true at all.
FOX is one of the many studios which possesses the rights to Marvel characters that are not Marvel Studios or Disney itself. Specifically, FOX has the license for the X-Men legendary characters like Wolverine, Cyclops, Jean Grey, Storm, Professor Xavier, and Magneto to name a few.
In addition, Fox also maintained the rights to Fantastic Four and its colorful cast of characters like Mr. Fantastic, Invisible Woman, The Human Torch, The Thing, and Doctor Doom. Every couple of years, FOX must create movies based on the separate franchises, or else Marvel Studios will regain the rights.
As of right now, X-Men: Days of Future Past is expected to arrive to the big screen on May 23, 2014. In addition, X-Men: Apocalypse will debut on May 26, 2016; which should involve one of the X-Men's arch nemesis: Apocalypse.
Furthermore, a remake version of the Fantastic Four should be unveiled for Marvel movie fans on June 19, 2015.
