Almost 89,000 units of Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango 2016 models were affected by the massive Fiat Chrysler recall.

The Fiat Chrysler recall is due to a faulty fuel tube during the manufacturing process that could endanger the lives of its owners. The damage may cause gas leak and even fire, according to the report. So far, no fire has yet been reported by buyers.

This is not the first time that the car manufacturer had to issue a recall.

Back in October, CNET reported that 182,743 Jeep Wrangler vehicles (2016 and 2017 models) were recalled due to the faulty wiring harness, which may disconnect from the impact sensors. That's going to be a huge safety issue because the sensors will tell the airbags when to deploy.

Fortunately, when the recall was issued, the cars were still in the hands of the dealers so there was no customer affected.

Fiat Chrysler also issued a second recall at that time covering 74,833 units of the 2007-2013 Ram 2500/3500 pickup, 2011-2014 Dodge Charger Pursuit 2007-2013 and Ram 3500/4500/5500 chassis cab because of the problems with the alternator.

Meanwhile, in another report, 54,255 units of Dodge Darts were covered by another Fiat Chrysler recall recently. The issue is not that big however because the damage just covers the windshield washer pumps.

The FCA said that the pump electrical connectors in the affected vehicles do not meet the company standards. With the faulty manufacturing, it could render the windshield wipers useless. Again, no customer complaint was reported in this latest Fiat Chrysler recall.
