Michelle Obama Offers Justin Bieber Motherly Advice: 'I Would be very Present in His Life Right Now'
Pop star Justin Bieber has found himself in a load of trouble as of late, but First Lady Michelle Obama has his back as she shared in a recent interview with Univision Radio what she would do if she was the young stars mother.
"I would pull him close. You know, I don't know if it would be advice as much as action," Obama said to Radio host Enrique Santos. "I would be very present in his life right now. And I would be probably with him a good chunk of the time, just there to talk, to figure out what's going on in his head, to figure out who's in his life and who's not, you know."
The well-admired mother of two added, Bieber is "still a kid, he's still growing up."
"If Justin's struggling, don't kick him when he's down or condemn him, Pray for him," Pattie Mallette, 37-year-old mother of Bieber, said to The Sun in a previous interview. "I think so many people go into the entertainment industry with amazing Christian roots and get influenced somehow."
A petition created on the White House's "We the People" site is calling for the government to deport Bieber and revoke his green card. It has garnered, 254,847 signatures so far in support of his deportation, which far exceeds the 100,000 signature goal.
The original goal was set for 100,000 with a deadline of Feb. 22.
"That response will come I'm sure relatively soon," White House Press Secretary Jay Carney said last week on the announcement of the crooners deportation.
The petition, which was filed on the day Bieber was arrested in Miami Beach on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, marijuana, and Xanax. He was also drag racing, which followed the egging incident that led the feds to raid the pop crooner's house.
Bieber has grown up in the spotlight, and the center of media scrutiny. In 2010 Bieber said the following to the Associated Press:
"Hollywood is ... a scary place. There's a lot going on, there's a lot of bad things, but there's also a lot of good things. I'm able to live my dream; I'm able to do a lot of good things. Basically, I don't even consider religion. Like, I'm a Christian; I believe in God, I believe that Jesus died on a cross for my sins. I believe that I have a relationship and I'm able to talk to him and really, he's the reason I'm here, so I definitely have to remember that. As soon as I start forgetting, I've got to click back and be like, you know, this is why I'm here," stated Bieber.
