To help those frustrated game players on the way, here are some tips on how to get even farther in the hugely popular mobile app and raise your high score above where you thought it could go.

Flappy Bird is a simple though often frustrating test of focus and reflexes. According to many users Flappy Bird may be ill-advised for those with short tempers or phones that should not be thrown.

Flappy Bird was made by a development company in Vietnam which recently pulled the game from the app store- surprising the entire gaming community and causing an uproar for those who had not had Flappy Bird previously downloaded.

The goal of the game is to navigate your pixelated "flappy bird" in between the top and the bottom pipes without hitting them. A common mistake is to tap the screen a lot when it is in between pipes to try to regulate its altitude. A more effective way would be to tap once while your Flappy Bird is in the middle of two pipes. This way it will avoid smacking into the top pipe or falling to the bottom one. It may help to space out your taps more then you usually would.

Similarly, don't think that a flurry of tapping means you have more control than tapping the screen once and holding it. If you are holding down the screen, Flappy Bird's ascension will go more smoothly, giving you more control.
