Flyleaf Album 'New Horizons', New Singer, Kristen May & Their Tour with Drowning Pool
America's platinum Christian/Rock band, Flyleaf, finished up their tour with Drowning Pool back in late March.
The two bands went head to head in a 30 day tour across the United States by showcasing their new lead vocalists.
Flyleaf had originally said goodbye to former singer Lacey Sturm earlier this year, and announced that Kristen May would be taking the position in front of the band. Sturm left Flyleaf shortly after the release of the bands latest album New Horizons. "Were excited for everyone to experience Kristen May's powerful and inspiring voice as she joins us on stage. I cant wait for these news songs to happen live for both longtime and new fans", stated Bassist Pat Steals.
Drowning Pool was also showcasing new front man Jasen Moreno as their new lead vocalist.
Flyleaf released their third album New Horizons back in October shortly after the news broke about Sturm leaving the band.
The albums title was also the records first single debut that was released on iTunes. Bassist Pat Steals stated the song is "a feeling looking toward the unknown future with hope". New Horizons topped at 16 on the Billboard 200 and No.1 on Billboard Christian albums in 2012.
Flyleaf has kicked off their new beginning with a fresh style of mesmerizing melodies, and an uncontrollable energy. The title tracks stands as the most inspiring song off the album. Taking multiple perspectives from each member, the album was able to grasp the meaning of 'new horizons'. "It's a very hopeful song about looking forward. You put aside the unhealthy fear. Instead, you embrace excitement for the future and the unknown." stated guitarist Sameer Bhattacharya.
Flyleaf released their very first album in 2005 and have since continued to praise God in their hard rock style of music. With performing for many well known heavy metal and rock artists as Korn, Deftones, Stone Sour and Evanescence, Flyleaf has worked hard to earn the respect of their fans and musical peers.
With great reviews on the new lead vocalist, is it time for Flyleaf to begin studio session for another album? New Horizons 11 track set will not have a heavy feel to it, but it does take the heavier personas from the last album and combine them into what ultimately is the loving farewell to Lacey Sturm.
