Francesca Battistelli Says Good Riddance To Fear With New Single, Music Video "The Breakup Song"
Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Francesca Battistelli on Friday released her latest single and music video, "The Breakup Song." The new song, which the singer says has been a passion project, is a bold statement against fear and is available to stream or download at all digital outlets now.
Co-written with fellow artist Bart Millard of MercyMe and writer and producer David Garcia, Battistelli says she has been holding on to "The Breakup Song" and waited for the right moment to share it with her fans.
She says about the heart behind the song that, "Fear is a universal struggle. We all deal with it in different ways, but it holds us back from truly living."
"I came to the point where I decided I wanted it out of my life for good," the singer explains. "This song is my anthem, and I pray it encourages others to break up with fear too."
Recently, Battistelli has taken some time off from touring, choosing instead to spend more time with her husband and four children. The Grammy, Dove, and K-Love Fan Award-winning artist says she couldn't be more excited to be back and share new music with her fans.
On Friday, she will be performing "The Breakup Song" live on NBC's "Today In Nashville," at 11 a.m. CT, and is returning tonight to the Grand Ole Opry stage to share the song. Her most recent appearance was at the K-Love Fan Awards last month, where she took the stage with chart-topping singer-songwriter Cory Asbury to perform his recent hit song "Reckless Love."
