Galaxy S5 Release Date, Specs, Rumors, Features / New Samsung Phone to Have ISOCELL Display, 16 MP Camera, Retina Scan Unlock

Per usual, there are Samsung Galaxy S5 rumors floating around the Internet. It's predecessor the Galaxy S4 became the quickest selling smart phone when it was released earlier in March. If they follow their usual launch strategy the Galaxy S5 could likely be set for an early 2014 release date.

As for possible specs and features, nothing has been confirmed. But that doesn't mean we can't speculate. According to IB Times Samsung will most likely use plastic casing for the new S5 as it did with the Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy Round.

Usually a new phone upgrade means an updated camera. Some reports indicate the Galaxy S5 will come equipped with a 16 MP camera that could feature ISOCELL technology.

Also expect an upgraded display. The S4 has the biggest screen and highest resolution of any phone in its category. The Galaxy Round is the industry's only curved phone. Samsung takes pride in having the latest, greatest display technology. Expect the S5 to improve on it's predecessor's industry-leading specs.

Rumor has it, the new Samsung phone will use it's new Exynos 6 series, 64-bit processor.

Don't hold your breath for Samsung to copy Apple's new fingerprint technology. That's ok they have their own features. Sources claim the tech company is developing technology that can unlock the Galaxy S5 with a retina scan!

Look for the Galaxy S5 to have a release date around March 2014, no earlier than January.
