SamMobile has reported that the South Korean company's third quarter earnings could plummet as much as eight percent as a result of the exploding batteries. It's recall of millions of Galaxy Note 7 is already costing the company over a billion dollars.

That's why Forbes believes that Samsung is hoping to salvage its name by releasing the Galaxy S8 much earlier than anticipated, just so to take the sting away from the bad news that the Galaxy Note 7 has become.

Already, rumors are circulating about the specs of the Galaxy S8, which reportedly includes a 4K AMOLED screen, exclusively curved edges and a USB-C slot instead of an audio jack, which will be discarded.

However, there's a danger of launching the Galaxy S8 a tad too early. In fact, that's what happens to the Galaxy Note 7, which was released a year before the anticipated launch date. And suddenly, Samsung is looking at its biggest scandal yet.
