Game of Thrones Earns 16 Emmy Nominations this Year & Wins Best Drama at TCA (Television Critics Association) Awards 2013

 

 

'Game of Thrones' Wins Best Drama at TCA Awards, Earns 16 Emmy Nominations

 

"Game of Thrones" is the hit original drama series on HBO and has quickly become one of the most popular shows on television. 

The TSA (Television Critics Association) Awards were held on Saturday Night and "Game of Thrones" won 'Best Drama'. They were also nominated for 'Program of the Year'. 

With Season 3 under their belts, the show has garnered a faithful following as well as critical acclaim receiving 16 Emmy nominations for this years awards including 'Outstanding Drama Series' for the third consecutive year. 

Peter Dinklage was nominated for the third time for 'Outstanding Supporting Actor' and Emilia Clarke was nominated  for 'Outstanding Supporting Actress'. 

HBO received 108 total nominations, the most of any network for the 13th year in a row.  The 65th annual Primetime Emmy Awards will be held on September 22 at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles.

With Season 3 finished airing earlier this summer, rumors are spreading already about what Season 4 will hold. 

Production is underway for Season 4 and it hopes to be the best season yet. 

On how long the hit dramatic series will go, HBO programming president Michael Lombardo said "As far as I'm concerned it can go on as long as there are stories to tell. I know there are concerns about catching up with the books."
