FORMER "BACHELOR CONTESTANT" GIA ALLEMAND DIES IN SUICIDE ATTEMPT
Model and reality TV contestant, Gia Marie Allemand died Wednesday, August 14, 2013. On August 12, 2013, Allemand was checked into University Hospital in New Orleans after being found by NBA basketball player and boyfriend Ryan Anderson, in an attempt to commit suicide gone wrong.
Doctors told Allemand's family that she suffered from a critical loss of brain and organ function. Gia Allemand was removed from the hospital's life support equipment just two days later.
The 29 year old was known for being a member on two of ABC's "The Bachelor" reality shows and a former Maxim model. Allemand had recently moved from Manorville, New York to New Orleans to live with Ryan Anderson of the New Orleans Pelicans. Anderson says he found her limp body hanging Monday and quickly called 911.
Friends and family of Allemand said she gave off no signs of depression or suicidal thoughts, although she did take to twitter that Sunday and posted:
"Doing what is right and fair pleases The Lord more than an offering. Proverbs 21:3"
Those who were in close contact with Allemand are in total shock of the recent events that have occurred over the past week, but at least we know now Gia Allemand is in peace.
