'Girl Meets World' Season 4 Updates, Spoilers: Series Renewal Still Remains Bleak?

The current season of "Girl Meets World" will run until 2017, but fans are already itching to know if the Disney show will be renewed for another season after the season 3 finale.

Filming for season 3 was completed in July, and while the cast members of the show hope for another season, "Girl Meets World" lead star Rowan Blanchard recently expressed her doubts about the future of the series.

In her recent interview with She Knows, the actress revealed that the creators of the show have not yet received any word from Disney Channel as to the renewal of the series.

"I know as much as you do," said Blanchard. "We are hoping for a season 4, obviously, because we want to continue our story, and I feel like it's an important story to tell," she added.

While it is possible that season 3 will be the show's final season, the actress assured fans that the "Boy Meets World" spinoff will end with a bang.

"As of right now, we just finished filming season 3 and we're still waiting on the word. But we do have more episodes coming out this year that air into early 2017, so we're covered for a little bit," revealed Blanchard.

A few months ago, a representative from the Disney Channel also made the same implication during an interview with TV Line. During the interview, the representative implied that it would be too early for the network to think about the show's renewal since season 3 will air until 2017.

"With episodes airing on Disney Channel into 2017, there's no news to share yet about a fourth season," said the representative.

"Girl Meets World" is set to return on October 14 with the episode "Girl Meets World of Terror 3."
