'God Of War 4' Release Date PS4 News Update: Any Word On Launch Date Yet?

There's no release date for "God of War 4" yet, unfortunately, even as fans appetite were whetted some more when the trailer for the game was dropped earlier this year.

That's certainly good news since the game would have been perfect for the PS 4 Pro, the new console from PlayStation which supports native 4K gaming.

Sony Interactive Entertainment was active during the E3 event earlier this year, but instead of a release date, fans were treated to a "God of War 4" teaser gameplay trailer. People also got a peek of one of the monsters in the game, this time it's just a lowly troll.

Kratos, for one, is now older and he has a son. To continue his warrior lineage, he's trying to teach his son how to be a hunter. But as we know, troubles seem to follow our protagonist wherever he goes. The soundtrack is produced by Bear McReary of "The Walking Dead" franchise.

According to TrustedReviews, the "God of War 4" seemed to have deviated from its previous pace. Instead of the action-packed adventure, this one appears to have a slower progression. There's a lot of bonding between Kratos and the boy, who will accompany his father wherever he goes. That means you will not only fend for yourself, you have another person to protect on your journeys.

The article pointed out that the gameplay follows the lines of "The Last of Us," and instead of zombies you fight mythical creatures along the way.

We will report any updates on the "Game of War 4" release date as soon as we get our hands on them.
