Google Daydream VR Price, Specs, Release Date: ‘Cozy’ Headset To Be Revealed Next Month
The news hype on the Google VR only intensified in view of its imminent release date next month.
According to the report, the price of the device would be a reasonable $79, which could be the cheapest VR device out in the market following Samsung Gear VR's $100 price tag.
Clearly, Google has a lot of time perfecting the Daydream VR in terms of specs and design. It's supposedly 30% lighter compared to its competitors and those wearing eyeglasses won't have any trouble putting them on.
"The VR headset is important to get right. It's something you wear. We saw problems with comfort and that they were pretty hard to use. They all looked the same," the company said. "The result is something soft and cosy, and feels great."
In a news report, CNET said that the Google Daydream VR won't work on all smart phones, unlike the Google Cardboard. You may need a phone that is "Daydream-ready" in order to link this new headset. One of the innovations here is the motion-controlled remote, which would have been rendered useless in other smart phones.
The specs of the Google's Pixel phones, for now, are ready made to accommodate the Google Daydream VR. The release date for the Pixel and Pixel XL would be on Oct. 20 so that's the good news, as it will give you plenty of time to also purchase the Daydream when it comes out.
In terms of apps, Google has announced that it would be releasing 50 of them by the end of 2016.
Any Google Daydream VR news, price, specs and release date will be published here when they become available.
