Google Home Specs, Price News: Still No Changes To November 4 Release Date

The Google Home release date was originally speculated to be on Oct. 4, but obviously that didn't happen. The search giant then announced that it's finally going to be on Nov. 4 and it appears that the company is sticking by that schedule.

The device was first announced on May 18, and pre-order came at early October. It was supposed to be a competitor to Amazon Echo.

For those who don't know, Google Home is a speaker that can be controlled through vocal commands. It's running the very impressive Google Assistant, the company's answer to Siri or Amazon Alexa. Aside from music, you can also ask it for weather updates, or remind you on some task as well as alarms.

As to the specs, Google Home will stream audio through Wi-Fi and probably be synced with Google Play Music as well as other third-party music apps. Setting up your very own entertainment system is also possible as it can support multiple speakers at a time.

Just like the Amazon Echo, it can also read the smart appliances that you have lying around the house. For now, however, there's no word on which appliances can be supported as well as the specs required for Google Home to do just that.

Sadly, there's not much details on the specs of the Google Home in terms of dimensions and hardware. Hopefully, we can get more details on the release date.

You can purchase Google Home on the released date for a price of $129. For now, the launch is set for North America only and there's no word on when it's coming to the UK.
