Google Nexus 5 VS LG G2 Review: Which Smartphone Has Better Specs, Price, Hardware and Software? [VIDEO]
The Google Nexus 5 was unveiled on Halloween along with the new Android 4.4 KitKat Operating System, and consumers are wondering if they should purchase the new Nexus or the LG G2 competitor smartphone for the holiday season. The phones are very similar when all of the specs, price and hardware are broken down, but which one runs the best software?
The display of both devices is very similar considering they both run a 1080 x 1920p Full HD. The phones start looking different when you compare battery life, however. The LG G2 offers a larger battery, the 3000 mAh capacity compared to the Nexus 5's 2300 mAh battery. The battery life of the Nexus 5 could suffer due to the extremely high performance display that the phone features.
The phones really start to differentiate themselves when the camera is examined. The Nexus 5 got the short end of the stick as far as cameras go. Google only installed an 8-megapixel camera that doesn't zoom very far. The LG G2 has a much better option with the 13-megapixel main camera. The difference between these two cameras is stark, and seeing as how many people use their smartphone camera as the main camera in their lives, this decision by Google could have been a make or break for the Nexus 5.
The Google Nexus 5 wins in the price category. You can get it for $350-400 unlocked, meaning you own the phone outright and are not locked into any contract. The LG G2 costs $560 unlocked and $200 with a two year contract with any major carrier.
Here is a video detailing the differences between the two devices. Which one will you buy this holiday season? Let us know in the comments!
