Google Pixel Phone News: Photo Leaked Ahead Of Release Date On October 4

A Leaked photo allegedly of the Google Pixel has surfaced, which shows circular icons and a new home button enclosed in a white border. The new phone, along with its bigger brother Google Pixel XL, is expected to be launched on Oct. 4, news reports have claimed.

The image was released by Venture Beat and probably shows the world a first look at the Android Nougat. It was reported in multiple news reports that the Google Pixel and Google Pixel XL will be running the new OS out of the box.

The navigation buttons, however, are clearly very different. Instead of the curved arrow button for the back action, you only have a left-facing triangle shape. The home button is a circular shape with white border.

Most of the previous reports claimed that the Google Pixel will have a 1080p 5-inch screen, with 4 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage. It's running quad-core 2.0GHz and 64-bit processor. The main camera will have 12 MP and a 8 MP front camera. Also, it will feature a USB-C and fingerprint scanner, both not really mindblowing. The battery is also a suspect 2770mAh, which cast doubt on its durability.

The Google Pixel XL is about the same, except for the bigger 3450mAh battery and the QHD display on a 5.5-inch screen.

According to Android Central said that Google's phones have historically not been impressive, so the news about the Pixel and the Google Pixel XL have been rightly met with a healthy skepticism. However, it noted that this would be the first time that the search giant seems bent on doing the phone right, instead of just being a showcase of its OS.
