GoPro Passenger App Latest News Update: Control A Nearby Drone With Downloadable Program?

The GoPro Passenger app allows the user to control and "see" what the Karma Drone is seeing as long as it's nearby.

According to the news article from AndroidPolice, the GoPro Passenger app will be available once the Karma Drone starts rolling out. While the pilot will control the elevation, trajectory and speed of the aerial device, the application gives the user the power to control the camera.

The control includes the tilt, field of view, modes, resolution and frames per second. However, they can't do that without the permission from the pilot since he has to turn on the network where the app needs to connect to.

News reports said that for the GoPro Passenger app to work, the Android phone or tablet the user is using should also be running at least the 4.2 Jellybean or iOS 9 as well as 5GHz Wi-Fi. And because you are connected wirelessly, you need to be at a certain distance from the drone to use the GoPro Passenger app.

The Karma Drone was already put on sale on Oct. 23 for $800, said Digital Trends.

But those who have some extra money can purchase the bundle package, which already includes the Hero 5 Black for a cool $1,100. The Hero 5 Black retails for $399. One of the best aspects of the Karma Drone is how easy it is to put away since buyers can fold the device up and just stuff it into their backpacks.

The GoPro Passenger app is available for download on the Google Play Store, said the multiple news reports.
