'Grey's Anatomy', the longest-running medical drama hit on ABC, is set to premiere its Season 11 on September 25. The season premiere episode is entitled "I Must Have Lost It on the Wind," as Meredith Grey returns along with characters Derek Shepherd, Callie Torres, Arizona Robbins, Owen Hunt, Alex Karev, and Miranda Bailey.

The season's premiere holds many surprises for its fans as Meredith will reportedly be working alongside Dr. Maggie Pierce in the upcoming installment. According to reports, Meredith will find out that she is related to Pierce. She learns that Pierce is the daughter of former Seattle Grace Chief Surgeon Dr. Richard Webber and legendary neurosurgeon Ellis Grey - which means she is another one of Meredith's half-sisters.

Beyond the drama that comes with learning something like that, Meredith will also be facing some challenges in her marriage with Derek. Fans should expect to see the aftermath of their failed attempt to resolve the issue of Derek's re-location to Washington D.C.

Also, Meredith will also be seen struggling to cope as her best friend, Dr. Cristina Yang, is no longer a major part of her life.

Meanwhile, doctors Callie Torres and Arizona Robbins are expected to decide on the matter of their plans for a new born baby. They will seriously consider surrogacy as a means to fulfill their wish of building a family.

Miranda Bailey, on the other hand, will find herself up in arms against Alex Karev to secure the recently vacated Board of Directors position at the hospital, which became open when Cristina Yang left Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital.

'Grey's Anatomy' Season 11 promises interesting and complex new events as new characters set foot at Grey Sloan.
