‘GTA 6' Release Date, News & Rumors: High Cost Delays Release?

The "Grand Theft Auto 6" has no release date yet and the news and rumors are pointing to the possibility that it might not get made at all.

According to NeuroGadget, Rockstar needs to raise a lot of moolah in order for the "Grand Theft Auto 6" to happen. For instance, the fifth installment in the franchise needed about $265 million budget, making it one of the costlier titles out there.

Granted, Rockstar recouped its investment four times within 24 hours of release. In fact, it's one of the fastest to hit $1 billion in sales, achieving that feat in four days' time.

There's no news or rumors yet on whether Rockstar is even thinking about making "Grand Theft Auto 6" right now, as all indications point to the developer focusing on the virtual cash cow, the after sales and accessories in the "Grand Theft Auto 5." However, there are rumors about a release date being in 2018.

Admittedly, the basis for this speculation is thin, said GameNguide. In fact, there's no basis at all save for the fact that five years passed between the fourth and fifth sequels.

Of course, with the Internet, everything is fair game and you really have to sift through all the contrasting info in order to arrive at the semblance of truth. For example, if you trace back even more, the third installment was released in 2001, which was a seven-year gap with the "Grand Theft Auto 4" which was launched in 2008.

Watch out for more "Grand Theft Auto 6" news and rumors, as well as info on the release date, which will be published here when they become available.
