GTA V PC Release Date Rumors Indicate a March Launch After Next-Gen Announcement

Grand Theft Auto 5 PC was hinted at as having a March release by online retail giant, Amazon, after a number of employees of the company began leaking an alleged date online.

Rockstar Studios has remained quiet about any release date, but most are suggesting a launch for the next-gen consoles is likely to happen first, reported the Latin Post.

Their report also indicated that an employee named Fatima said Rockstar would make an announcement on Christmas Eve about a March 12 release date, which was proved wrong as the day has come and gone with still not as much as a whisper.

IBTimes reported an unnamed Norwegian retailer leaked the date to them in a pre-order claim.

The retailer said a list of pre-orders suggested the games are set to arrive for March 19, 2014. However, actual documented proof has not been presented.

Also, GTA admins have been responding to people on their site with, "Keep an eye out for info on that on our newswire page: http://www.rockstargames.com/newswire," when asked about GTA 5 on the PC.

An AMD Catalyst driver is making its way to gamers as well. The AMD Catalyst driver has a support of GTA5.exe. This would suggest that a PC version is on its way. Exe is coding for a "computer coding extension." AMD drivers are for graphics cards on computers among other things.

Other rumors listed in stores have shown a GTA 5 steam key to be pre-ordered online, citing a summer 2014 release date, according to SidTech.
"The pre-orders tell us that those who pre-order will have to wait for summer next year for the release. We take the summer to mean somewhere between July and September 2014," the website writes. "You do have to take this with a pinch of salt as at the moment Rockstar have not spoken up about a released date. Personally we thought that that Rockstar would launch GTA 5 for the PC before we got to see it on the PS4 and Xbox One."
