Hannah Kerr readies long-awaited sophomore album, "As I Am," coming August 30, 2024
Nashville, Tenn. (May 17, 2024) — Curb Records recording artist Hannah Kerr announces her long-awaited sophomore album, As I Am, set to bow August 30, 2024. While fans have enjoyed singles, EPs and a Christmas project from the artist over the past eight years, As I Am marks Kerr’s official full-length follow-up to her 2016 critically acclaimed debut LP, Overflow. Fans can pre-order/pre-add/pre-save As I Am, beginning today (5/17) HERE. Additionally, Kerr gives listeners another taste of new music from the album today with the release of “Church Hurt” — listen HERE.
Kerr’s from-the-heart vocals meet the intimate lyrics she’s penned on As I Am, a body of work that finds the artist wrestling with her insecurities in the light of grace and embracing the sovereignty of a loving Father in the wake of uncertainty. Kerr co-wrote each of the collection’s 14 recordings, including lead single “Changed,” the introspective “If I Were You” and today’s advance track, “Church Hurt.”
On the poignant “Church Hurt,” Kerr pens a letter of apology, flipping the popular phrase on its head with a sincere vocal and piano-led melody. Filled with communal confessions and convicting questions, her latest offering serves as an open invitation to the marginalized and a timely balm for wounds inflicted by the collective Church. Kerr co-wrote the fresh selection with Tommy Iceland and Cindy Morgan.
The buzzworthy singer/songwriter has been sharing the stage this spring with labelmates Big Daddy Weave on their Heaven Changes Everything Tour. Kerr continues on the Heaven Changes Everything Tour in June and July, sharing new music from As I Am alongside signature songs like “Warrior” and “Same God.”
