'HappyLand' Premiere Spoilers, MTV Start Time: Watch New Teen Drama Every Tuesday, Pilot Airs Sept. 30
'HappyLand', the latest teen drama television series, is all set to premiere on Tuesday, Sept. 30, at 11 pm ET on MTV after 'Awkward' and 'Faking It'.
The storyline of the new show revolves around teenage anguish and romance. In fact, 'HappyLand' is set in a fresh and novel background. The main characters of the show work at a theme park and all the dramas unfold there as they interact among themselves backstage as well as with the patrons.
The 'HappyLand' cast is led by 'The Fosters' actress Bianca Santos. The show will follow the life of a certain Lucy Velez who has been living with her single mom, Elena (played by Camille Guaty), and is working at HappyLand amusement park, wherein she plays Princess Adriana.
Elena is one of the more interesting characters seen in the sneak peek video offered by the show creators. Elena is someone who refused to outgrow her teenage years. She is often seen flirting on as well as off stage and, on one occasion, was caught by her daughter doing so. Later, she even introduced Lucy as her sister.
Another actor from 'Awkward', Shane Harper will portray the character of Ian - the handsome son of the new president of Happyland amusement park. Ian has been hired newly and he often encounters Lucy's liveliness.
Nevertheless, as in the instance of most teen dramas, "the more you hate, the more you love" cliché often takes place in 'HappyLand' too. Thus, Lucy and Ian find themselves falling for each other and they eventually kiss. At this juncture Elena breaks the news to her daughter that Ian could be her half-brother.
Katherine McNamara from 'Contest' will be portraying the character of Harper in the show and will use all possible means to woo Ian even if she already has a boyfriend working at the park.
Brady Smith and Ryan Rottman will feature as guest stars in the show.
