HBO Series "Hello Ladies" Trailer for Episode 2: Stephan Merchant and Cast Deliver Cringe-Worthy and Hilarious Comedy About Picking Up Women [TRAILER] [LIVE ONLINE STREAM]

Stephan Merchant, creator of "The Office" and "Extras," returns to HBO with his new comedy "Hello Ladies" about a six foot seven doofus (played by Merchant) who doesn't have a clue how to interact with the ladies. The cast is outstanding in this new comedy on HBO and season 1 episode 2 premieres on Sunday. Evan Almeida from PolicyMic.com writes, "The show is about a six-foot-seven-inch British man named Stuart Pritchard who comes to America to find the girl of his dreams. At first glance, that seems like a tired premise that's more suited to a Hugh Grant movie than an HBO program. However, Stuart remains something of a mystery; "Hello Ladies" doesn't detail his origin story. The show starts with Stuart already living in Los Angeles. He has a company, a house, and is even a landlord. One of the best parts of the pilot is trying to figure out Stuart's backstory through dialogue and context clues. The show doesn't force-feed information to the viewer, which is fantastic. Like "Arrested Development," "Hello Ladies" compels you to pay attention, lest you be completely lost by the second episode."

"Hello Ladies" succeeds because it wallows in its awkwardness and expects the audience to do the same. Stuart is a lonely man who is obsessed with the idea of Tinsel Town. One scene from the premiere episode features Stuart ordering the "cheapest champagne at the bar poured into the bottle of the most expensive champagne." As he carries the drinks back to the table, he trips and spills all of the bubbly on his shirt to reveal a condom in his front shirt pocket. It is moments like these that make this cringe-worthy comedy a viable show on HBO.
