‘Heroes Reborn’ Spoilers, Plot News: Story of Upcoming Series Takes Off from Original Series Finale

'Heroes Reborn' reboot series is unique in the sense that it will tell the story that was seen on-screen last with the original character of Hayden Panettiere. The Associated Press reports (via The New York Times) that the series will be based on the original story and also sets the theme for the upcoming mini-series comprising 13 episodes.

Quoting the report, Latin Post states that the character of Panettiere was last seen on the show revealing her competences to the world from the viewpoint of news cameras. This actually starts out a new sequence of events that had compelled the people with amazing abilities into hiding.

The original show was withdrawn only after four seasons in 2010 and will be back on NBC this fall.

Recently, 'Heroes Reborn' show creator Tim Kring shared that the time lapse between the two series will also be the actual time lapse between them in the reboot - in other words, there will be a difference of five years. The show opens up on a scene that occurs five years later and the superhumans are now called EVOs, who live in hiding subsequent their exposure by Panettiere's character in Season 4 finale of the series.

Incidentally, when the finale was being filmed, the producers and writers were not aware that the series woul be going off the air.

AP quotes Kring telling them, "The story was really the thing that dictated who would come back, and the show was always designed to be very elastic in its presence." Kring further said, "I always thought of it as a show that could repopulate itself. I wanted to make it easy for brand new viewers."

This has led people to wonder what actually went wrong with the show so that it had to be cancelled and lose so many viewers. According to Kring, the amount of story that he had to fill into the season was somewhat awesome. With 23-, 26- and 25-episode seasons, the story had to be extended and the absence of much details may possibly have turned viewers off.

As the upcoming season of 'Heroes Reborn' only has 13 episodes, Kring said, "What you're getting is a beginning, middle and an end which will allow us to do a very aggressive kind of storytelling."

Meanwhile, a report in Deadline said that several characters, including Matt Parkman (Greg Grunberg), The Haitian (Jimmy Jean-Louis) and Hiro Nakamura (Masi Oka), will be returning for the show.
