Homeland DVD and Blu-Ray Released starring Award-Winning Actors Claire Danes and Damian Lewis.
The Showtime premium cable channel show Homeland releases Season two to video stores tomorrow (9/10/2013)
The series portraying the tense standoff between a psychologically-fragile CIA analyst and an Iraq war hero won six Emmy® Awards, including Outstanding Lead Actress for Claire Danes, Outstanding Lead Actor for Damian Lewis and Outstanding Drama Series.
Lewis plays former Marine Sgt. Nicholas Brody, who was rescued and returned to America to a heroes welcome. He recently won election to congress. Danes plays former CIA agent Carrie Mathison, who recently returned to civilian life. But when a new and potentially devastating terrorist threat emerges, Brody and Carrie's lives become entangled once again. They resume their delicate dance of mistrust, treachery, and desire.
Danes researched her role by meeting with CIA officers and she watched videos made by bi-polar disorder patients. She also consulted with author Julie Fast, who is also bi-polar.
During the opening montage, photos and excerpts of five U.S. Presidents voices are heard in chronological order: Ronald Reagan, George Bush, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, and Barack Obama. Some of the photos interspersed over the opening credits are actual pictures of Danes as a child.
Danes also won an Emmy for her portrayal of Temple Grandin, an autistic woman who overcame her disability and became one of the top scientists in creating new was of handling the horses and cattle humanely.
Lewis first gained notice in the mini-series "Band of Brothers", the story of Easy Company of the US Army 101st Airborne division and their mission in WWII Europe from Operation Overlord through V-J Day.
