'Homeland' Season 3 Finale Preview: How Will Carrie and Brody Escape Tehran in Episode 12? [Trailer]

The Season 3 finale episode of Showtime's post-911 thriller Homeland is only a week away. Not a marine anymore, Brody finds himself on the run after impulsively killing General Akbari with a glass ashtray in his office.

Not much in terms of finale spoilers have been released about next week's episode. What we do know is that Brody is still alive. In Episode 11, after the rendezvous between Akbari and Brody took an unexpected turn the guys back at Langley thought he had turned once again and considered him a liability that needed to be silenced immediately.

Though he manages to escape his own assassination attempt, Brody is far from safety. Chances are he will meet up with Carrie as soon as possible. But how will they escape. Double agent Javadi's cover is still secure. Maybe he'll help the two flee the country.

Many have speculated that Season 3 will be the end of Brody. Though he is a major character, Homeland isn't the type of show that shies away from killing main characters. Remember the Langley bombing on the Season 2 finale?

Here's the official synopsis for next week's episode:

Season 3 will end with security forces closing in on Carrie and Brody, and Brody struggling to find redemption. In the meantime, Saul is going to plan a last-ditch rescue mission.

Don't miss the Homeland Season 3 finale Sunday night at 9/8c on Showtime.
