'Homeland' Season 3 Recap: In Episode 8 "A Red Wheelbarrow" A Pregnant Carrie Gets Shot by Quinn While Trying to Save Langley Bomber
Homeland Season 3 may have started out thrilling but over the last couple week's the show's fallen flat by aiming to high. Leaving the Dana storyline out of Sunday night's episode 8 "A Red Wheelbarrow" wasn't enough to remind us of why we thought the show was compelling in the first place.
Here's a recap of what happened last night. Beware of spoilers!
- Saul's plot to upgrade Javardi's role to a more senior position in the Iranian government is being taken to the White House for approval. It seems like he's finally getting some deserved recognition.
- Mira, Saul's estranged wife, calls it quits with her new lover Alain in hopes her marriage can still be salvaged.
- Dar prods the shady lawyer Leland Bennett into action with an unsuccessful attempt at getting him to divulge details. Dar's seemingly futile attempt brings Carrie into play as the firm's CIA informant.
- Don't forget about Fara. Still upset that Javardi is kept alive, she's been dodging work for a couple days until the IG shows up at her door threatening her back to Langley.
- In probably the worst and most Homeland-esque twist of all, Alain [remember Mira's French lady's man?] is apparently a spy. He's seen bugging Saul's computer and narrowly makes it out of the house after an unsuspecting Mira returns from the grocery store.
- Bennett's right hand man Franklin, decides to take out the bomber at the motel instead of helping him flee the country. Against orders Carrie approaches the room. Not wanting to botch the entire operation, Dar orders Quinn to shoot Carrie. So now a pregnant Carrie is rushed to the hospital with a wound to her left shoulder.
- Concluding the episode, Saul takes a trip to South American with $10 million. He arrives at the Tower of David to see Brody. Knowing he's not the bomber, will he bring the former marine/terrorist back to the States to redeem himself?
Homeland Season 3 airs Sunday nights at 9/8c on Showtime.
