'Homeland' Season 3 Spoilers: CIA on Trial, Brody on the Run, Carrie's Disorder, New Love Interest? Season 3 Preview, Premiere September 29 [TRAILER]
Homeland Season 3 spoilers!
The Homeland Season 3 premiere episode is already circulating the Web after being leaked by someone involved in post-production for the show. If you have or haven't seen it, here are a few Homeland Season 3 spoilers to keep in mind, only three weeks away from the September 29 air date on Showtime.
Here's the official description for Season 3 from the network.
"As Carrie (Claire Danes) and Saul (Mandy Patinkin) begin to pick up the pieces of their shattered professional and personal lives, they are swept up in the political and media firestorm surrounding the terror attack and the subsequent search for Brody's whereabouts."
Now on to spoilers.
Homeland executive producer Alex Gansa has already confirmed that at the start of season 3 "the CIA itself is on trial" which means Carrie and Saul will be testifying about the attack. Gansa confirmed Season 3 would focus on the backlash and cost of a career in government intelligence.
More Season 3 spoilers? Since Brody's on the run, he'll be missing from the first two episodes. To disguise himself, Brody's appearance will also be very different, which will cause a rift in his family, namely his precocious daughter Dana, who will also have an upgraded role in the beginning of Season 3.
Also back in Season 3 is Carrie's bipolar disorder. Off her medication, Danes revealed, "Carrie is always sitting on her own personal ticking bomb and it's just an impossible dilemma because she is not great on the meds and she's even worse off of them."
Though it will be pretty ugly in the beginning of the season, Danes says, "we get to enjoy her process of finding that balance...in the middle of those two states."
Oh, and don't expect Carrie and Peter Quinn to continue their love triangle with Brody. Carrie is still very much so in love with Brody and too stressed out from her mental disorder and CIA trial to get involved. Oh, and Quinn may even find a little sugar from some one else on the team.
In the aftermath of the attack, Carrie and Saul's relationship is deeply strained. "She does feel a certain level of betrayal," Danes told TVGuide. "But they share an enormous and profound amount of guilt and responsibility for this bomb and this loss. Even though they are estranged from each other, they are very deeply connected. They experienced that trauma in a way that no one else has."
There you have it, a few spoilers on the upcoming season of Homeland.
Homeland Season 3 is set to premiere September 29 at 9 PM ET on Showtime.
