'Homeland' Season 6 News: Trailer Reveals Quinn's Return, Transition To The New U.S. President
Showtime has released the official trailer for the new season of "Homeland," teasing the return of Quinn.
Though the character is not actually seen in the lengthy trailer, the clip ends with his voiceover asking Carrie, "What happened to me?"
The fate of Quinn was uncertain until the end of season 5. However, the cast revealed after the season finale that he was actually alive. Claire Danes, who plays Carrie, also revealed earlier this fall that one of the reasons Carrie was in New York was because Quinn was receiving his therapy there.
Aside from providing clues about Quinn's fate, the trailer also paints the picture for the entire season, including the transition to the new president, played by Elizabeth Marvel. The timing will be just in time for the real-life transition in the United States, as president-elect Donald Trump is scheduled to be inaugurated in early 2017.
The clip also introduces the new faces in the season, including "24" star Robert Knepper and "Nurse Jackie" alum Dominic Fumusa.
Meanwhile, here is the synopsis for "Homeland" season 6:
"After she thwarted a terrorist attack in Berlin, season six picks up several months later and finds Carrie Mathison back on American soil, living in Brooklyn, New York. She has begun working at a foundation whose efforts are to provide aid to Muslims living in the U.S. Season 6 will tackle the after effects of the U.S. presidential election, with the entire season taking place between election day and the inauguration. It's a strange, transitional time in the halls of government filled with anxiety and different competing interests, where a very fragile and complex transfer of power takes place between the outgoing president and the incoming president-elect."
"Homeland" season 6 premieres on January 15 on Showtime.
