'How I Met Your Mother' Season 9 Episode 10 "Mom and Dad" Recap: Barney Learns a Lesson While Detective Mosby Solves a Case
"Oil is the future!"
In Monday night's episode of How I Met Your Mother, Barney may not have been able to get his parents back together, but at least he learned an important lesson: since he has Robin and his dad has a wife and two kids, maybe he should let his brother James have a whole family again.
Meanwhile, Ted discovers his best man duties had been sabotaged when the Wayne Gretzky photo Barney told him to save for Robin had been destroyed with his very own calligraphy ink. Never fear, Detective Mosby is on the case. He identifies three possible suspects at the wedding.
Right when Ted's about to give up, he gets an accidental tip from Barney's dad and tracks down the perp, the original best man!
Still on the road to the wedding, Marshall and Daphne appear to be getting along, jamming in the car to "5,000 Miles." Daphne finds out she's not going to make it in time for her daughter's model U.N. speech, spoiling the bonding experience. In true Marshall fashion, he detours to the elementary school just in time to see Daphne's daughter speak. Apparently she's pro-drilling...
In next week's episode of HIMYM Season 9, it looks like Barney chases the title for "player king of New York City." What that means exactly, I'm not sure but at least Robin gets to go face first into what appears to be her, or someone else's wedding cake.
How I Met Your Mother Season 9 airs Monday nights at 8/7c on CBS.
