HTC Bolt Specs, Release Date News, Rumors: Following Apple's Recent iPhone 7 With No Headphone Jack?

Rumors carried by tech news sites allege that the HTC Bolt specs, like Apple's recent iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, won't include a 3.5mm audio jack. The release date for the new smart phone will be made later this month.

The rumors are based on the leaked image by noted tipster Evan Blass. And the absence of the audio jack seems to be confirmed by recent photographs. If true, the HTC Bolt will follow Apple's lead in the design.

The main difference, however, is that Apple is using the lightning port for syncing while the HTC Bolt will be using the USB Type-C connector, where the earphone is expected to be inserted.

In terms of specs, the HTC Bolt will have a 5.5-inch FHD display (equipped with fingerprint sensor). It will also have 3 GB of RAM and 64 GB internal storage. This is expandable through the microSD slot.

The camera is capable of recording 4K clips while the 18 MP main camera has an aperture of f/2.0. The front camera, in the meantime, features 8MP.

If the rumors are true, the HTC Bolt will be powered by the Snapdragon 810, which DigitalTrends said is a head-scratcher considering that it's prone to overheating.

Meanwhile, the HTC Bolt will run the Android Nougat right out of the box during its release date in the U.S. It will also be available in Europe, Asia and Africa.

For now, however, there's no exact release date for the HTC Bolt. We will report any news and rumors on the device when they come along.
