HTC Released the Limited Edition HTC One Gold, But is it Worth it's Price Tag? [DETAILES INSIDE]

HTC has stepped up their game by introducing a gold HTC One smartphone. Priced at $2750, not just anyone will be able to buy one of these phones because HTC's gold HTC One will be given to this year's MOBO Awards Best Newcomer.

HTC says the smartphone has an 18-carat gold plating and the MOBO logo engraved on the back on the phone, which makes it well worth its price tag. Other than the gold exterior no specs on the HTC One have been changed or modified. HTC One Gold still has a 4.7 HD Super LCD display, quad-core 1.7GHz processor, 4MP Ultra-pixel camera, Sense 5.0 skin and 2300mAh.

Four other gold handsets were made, which means only 5 exist in the world. Two out of the five handsets have already been spoken for. One, which will be awarded to the MOBO Best Newcomer winner and the other, will be given to an "average Joe" of the general public. There is no word of what will happened with the remaining three gold handsets.

In a statement HTC Europe president, Phil Blair said,

"The best artists have always been given gold discs to celebrate their success, but today most people listen to music on their phone. We wanted to celebrate that fact. We're sure the winning MOBO artist will love their unique phone and we will be giving a lucky member of the general public the chance to get their hands on one too."
